The Embassy of Ireland, in association with the Irish Business Club, Moscow City Government, Veresk and the Central House of Artists is proud to launch Irish Week, the largest celebration of Irish music, film, dance, comedy, and culture in Moscow’s history. Irish Week stretches over 10 culture packed days from March 13 to 24 in a series of events which mark Ireland’s National holiday, St. Patrick’s Day.
Irish Week is sponsored by Mercury Engineering, O’Connor Sutton Cronin, the Irish Dairy Board and is supported by Culture Ireland, the Irish government’s agency for promoting Irish culture internationally.
Irish Week 2013 is of particular significance as it coincides with Ireland’s Presidency of the European Union which sees an increased amount of awareness for Ireland as a business, tourism and education destination.
The Irish Film Festival, March 13-24, Central House of Artists
40 screenings of the best of Irish Contemporary Cinema including an award winning shorts programme, 8 Russian feature Premieres with 4 filmmakers in attendance, all-night screenings of comedy and horror films.
The St. Patrick’s Day & Night Gala Festival, March 16, 15:00-05:00, Stadium Live
A 14-hour extravaganza of DJ music, lighting show, dance and live shows by over 200 musicians from 5 countries, headlined by Boris Grebenshikov, Finnegan Trio and Karan Casey (nominated for the Musicians of the Year in Ireland), acclaimed Russian guitarist Victor Zinchuk with a special celtic program, Irish-German band Trubadore, and Hungarian Paddy and the Rats.

Ireland’s favourite stand-up acts fly in to Moscow to close off Irish Week, featuring headliner Dylan Moran, co-organised by Stand-Up Original Project.

For the first time ever, four of Ireland’s top rock bands visit Moscow for a weekend showcase of the best of Irish contemporary music featuring The Walls, Mundy, Delorentos and We Cut Corners.
Mixed Arts Fest, March 24, 14:00-21:00, Central House of Artists, DNK Hall
Featuring traditional Irish dance classes, led by two award-winning dance studios, a mini-quest for kids and a unique storytelling session by Eddie Lenihan.
The annual Emerald Ball will take place on March 16th at the Marriott Grand Hotel Moscow tickets are on sale as of today and they cost 6000 each - for your comfort the hotel has recommended tables of 10 although we can facilitate 12 if needed.
We are hoping to make this event a huge success and as it is truly our only charity event of the year we are very thankful for all your support
We will have an excellent nights entertainment including a room off the ballroom to keep an eye on the rugby!
Ireland are playing at 630 pm on that evening and we will have the opportunity to show it before we start our dinner
